I found myself asking that question. Even when I felt like crap the most, would I still produce video content and be of my word. I looked no further than the one and only Michael Jordan.

In the 1997 NBA Finals, Michael Jordan scored 38 points in Game 5 with flu like symptoms. This was not Game 7 and a must win game where he HAD to play. The series was tied 2-2 in a best of 7 series and if he took this game off to recover he still would have had opportunity to come back for Game 6 and possibly Game 7 if needed. But he decided it was important to show up because greatness isn’t easy but showing up is REQUIRED.

I was away from the gym for almost a week at this point and I had ZERO desire to get out of bed let alone do a video that was motivating or inspiring to me let alone anyone else. But one thing pushed me was being in integrity with my word. If I do not value what I said I was going to do for me, then how can someone else value what I say I am going to do for someone else. I said I was going to do a video every week so that is what I had to do. It builds character to perform at elite levels and it challenges the mind to do things that you don’t want to do.

The next time you think it’s okay to take time off because you are a little uncomfortable just remember Michael Jeffrey Jordan and why he is considered The Greatest of all Time. He never made any excuses and you shouldn’t either and understand it takes a little discomfort to make things happen.

If you do not value what you said, it may be time to look in the mirror and your integrity. I designed a course that helps you build the Mental Abundance you need to succeed.
